Aims and Scope

New Countryside is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access journal dedicated to advancing scholarly research on rural development and rural transformation in a global context. The journal aims to provide an interdisciplinary platform for researchers, scholars, and practitioners to explore the social, economic, cultural, and environmental dimensions of contemporary rural areas.

The journal focuses on research that contributes to the understanding of rural change, rural governance, and sustainable rural development. It particularly welcomes studies that examine the interactions between agricultural systems, rural economies, public policy, community development, and environmental sustainability.

New Countryside encourages theoretical, empirical, and interdisciplinary studies that address emerging challenges and opportunities in rural regions worldwide, with the goal of supporting knowledge exchange and informed decision-making for sustainable rural futures.
